 Dwarf

Dwarves that allied themselves with the empire of the Mage-Lords became known as Grey (or Imperial) Dwarves. A very derogatory term in the current age. Early on in the empire these dwarves held positions of respect and import. For it was they who invented much of the Wizard-King’s technology. While the Wizard-Kings had created the magical engines capable of supplying limitless power, it was the Imperial Dwarves that created the machinery that allowed for application of that power. Most suspect that the Imperial Dwarves even created the Forged. As the years went on and the empire turned, the once powerful Imperial Dwarves found themselves as unwilling slaves before the Wizard-Kings.

Since the time of the fall most Dwarves can still be found in the ancient Remnant cities or scattered across the world in villages and towns. These folk still retain their strong abilities at engineering and can usually be found making a living maintianing some old piece of failing magetech.

Personality: While not as haughty and as aloof as their mountian bretheren, Dwarves are very suspicious. They are closely guarded even amognst their own direct kin. Most of their society is based upon reputation. Reputation gained through knowledge and skill. Imperial Dwarves have a love for things mechanical over the Mountain dwarves desire for precious metals.

Physical Description: Dwarves average 4 – 4 1/2  tall, weighing between 130-180lbs. Skin tone is a dark tan color and hair color can range from light blondes to blacks and greys.

Life Span: Dwarves can live to be over 400 years old and reach an age of majority at 40.

Life Expectancy: usually around 150-200 years.

Relations: Dwarves have the strong Dwarven distrust of stangers but are much more acclamated to life in the outside world. They do tend to be very cautious around mages and sorcerers. Mountian Dwarves and “Grey” dwarves, as their mountain kin call them, share mutual disdain for each other that they try not to exhibit around non-Dwarves.

Dwarven Lands: Dwarves can be found through out Ias and in almost every remnant city. There are a few remnant cities completely under Imperial Dwarf control..

Religion: Dwarven religious practices tend to reflect the prevailing theology in the area. Most dwarves consider religion of a secondary concern in life.

Language: Dwarves speak Dwarvish. They also tend to have a high degree of literacy.
