Half-Goblins (HobGoblins)
During the waining years of the Empire, the Mage-Kings unleashed the Hobgoblin armies they had been breeding on the unsucpecting elven citizens of the empire. A race totally breed for war, to be ruthless, organized and efficient and above all else, obey their masters. The Mage-Lords had considered this one of their greatest achievments. The perfect synthesis of goblin and man.
During the long nightmare after the Sundering the Hobgoblins had fought a losing war to defend their masters. They were slaughtered by the thousands. Inevitably the more intellligent goblins started to see the writing on the wall and many began to change sides. Most took what they could carry and faded into the new born wilderness of Ias.
Personality: Though techinically a half-breed race, Hobgoblins are closer to a true race than other half-breeds because their genesis was a conscious and forced effort. They were breed like dogs into existance, and they were breed for only one reason. To be perfect soldiers.
Although they have had to learn to become more rounded as a race over the past 2000 years, their intense genetic breeding still defines much of who they are. Hobgoblins are usually very intense perfectionists with a very strong militant attitude if not violent streak. This violent nature is rarely reckless and is probably the major reason many of the Hogoblin tribes across Ias did not decend into abject barbarism.
Physical Description: During the height of the empire the Hobgoblin race was almost uniform in physiology. Hobgoblins all ranged in the 6-6 1/2’ range, weighing some where between 180 to 220lbs. There hairy hides range from light tan to a darker brown with thick hair of dark browns and blacks. Eye color was usally dark brown to black and although their teeth show pronounced canines and incisors, they were usually very white.
In the long years since the Fall, the Hobgoblin race has been free of the strict breeding programs of their masters and their physiology has broadened too include more goblinish traits including wild skin, eye and hair colors and more variations in size.
Life Span: 75-80, majority per culture.
Life Expectancy: 25-30.
Relations: because of their origins Hobgoblins have serious problems with two very distinct peoples, elves and wizards.
Half-Goblin Lands: Half-Goblins have no lands. They can be found just about anywhere on StormWorld. Among human lands they will hide In the cracks of society some times even rising to positions of Indepence among more tolerant cultures. Among the goblins they can be found leading tribes as chieftains or as Infernal Clerics.

Half-Goblin Racial Traits
• +2 Str, -2 Wis,-2 Cha. Hobgoblins were bread for war they are strong, swift and intelligent but they lack good judgement and are too militaristic to be cordial.
• Medium-size: As Medium-size creatures.
• Hobgoblin base speed is 30 feet.
•Low-light Vision: Hobgoblins can see twice as far as a human in starlight, moonlight, torchlight, and similar conditions of poor illumination. They retain the ability to distinguish color and detail under these conditions.
• +2 racial bonus on move silently checks.
•1 extra feat at 1st level, because of the intense interbreeding with humans, Hobgoblins share a small part of humans versatile nature.
• Goblin Blood: For all special abilities and effects, a Hobgoblin is considered a Goblin.
• Automatic Languages: Goblin or Regional Common.
• Bonus Languages: Common, Giant, Gnoll.
• Favored Class: Fighter.
